subway art

December 7, 2010

Have you noticed?  Is it just me?  Or is Subway Art all over the place in BlogLand?  At first I wasn’t sure I loved it.  Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty nice, but seemed blah.  But then people started doing themed pieces and holiday pieces, and maybe it was because everywhere I looked I saw it, but I soon decided that yes, I too, love Subway Art! It reminds me a lot of the whole owl-craze that started last year.  Initially I averted my eyes with every little owl project that I would see.  Now?  I love them.  Anyway…

Subway Art.

If you haven’t joined yet, it’s time.

I made this using Photoshop Elements 8, and I’ll let you in on a little secret… it was my first time using PSE.  It was complete trial and error, a matter of making layers upon layers, changing fonts and colors, rotating and re-rotating.  The above I made for my mother–in-law for her birthday, and I’ll frame it to fancy it up a bit.  I have to say, after making one, and figuring out how to make it work for me, I’m really excited to make more!

Some of my favorites for the holidays… and the *best* part – most of these incredibly thoughtful bloggers have them available as a free download so you don’t have to do the work!

Love these — especially the grandkiddos one!!!

Have you heard of Wordle? It’s a word cloud generator, and it’s more for a visual representation, and the more often a word is used, the bigger it is. I ran my blog through it, and it was pretty cool to see how it was represented (and you can randomized).

I love Wordle! I did try it first as a lazy attempt, but it didn’t line everything up on the edges like I wanted when I was just doing the grandkids’ names. I should try the blog again, see what’s been on my mind! :)
