from eddie ross

It took me awhile to figure this out, so I’ll do my best to explain it to you better than what I had!  Bear with me!

Materials

square piece of black paper (at least 8×8″ for your first time)

scissors

optional – spray adhesive & black glitter

Directions

Start with a square piece of paper

Fold the paper in half

then in half the other way

Then fold it diagonally

then diagonally the same way again (it won’t match, there will be extra at the top)

IMG_7189

Cut a crescent moon shape at the top with the extra, leaving one point a little higher than the other

IMG_7194

alternate cutting pointed slits on each side of the paper, 2-3″ from the inner point

IMG_7195

carefully open paper to see your spider web!

If you’re feeling fancy and have the time and supplies (I lacked the latter), iron-out your web, then spray with spray adhesive and sprinkle with black glitter.  Carefully pour off excess glitter, and let dry.  It makes for an incredible, professional little placemat and/or doily (see very top).
