painting a lovey

October 5, 2010

My 3 year old son has found a love of painting.  It all started when we were making symmetry butterflies for his sister’s birthday.  Now he asks me daily if we can paint.  So yesterday he asked me if he could paint Raffi (his giraffe lovey), and after I figured out he wanted to paint a picture of Raffi, not Raffi himself, we got out the supplies and started painting!

When Chasen was done, I was so impressed that his painting did in fact look like Raffi!  What a great way to let your child practice painting a subject, and also having the lasting memory of a lovey!

I’m framing it.

Because I’m weepy and sentimental like that.
